Main purpose of job:

The British High Commission is recruiting short term support to join the team relocating Afghan and British nationals to the UK via Pakistan. The Afghan Relocation Islamabad Team (ARIT) made up of caseworkers, logisticians, consular staff, information managers and policy staff drawn from the UK Armed Forces, CBS staff, FCDO in London and the BHC community. The British High Commission is recruiting short term support to join the team relocating Afghan and British nationals to the UK via Pakistan. Roles and responsibilities / what will the jobholder be expected to achieve?:

We are seeking full-time Crisis caseworkers join the team. The work is fast-paced and requires good IT and problem solving skills and a high attention to detail. It is also requires empathy; many of the people you’ll be helping will be anxious or have faced some form of trauma. But it is also rewarding work; caseworkers help eligible Afghans through the resettlement process, from leaving Afghanistan all the way to departing for the UK to start a new life. You’ll be joining a supportive and experienced team who will work closely with you as you learn the ropes.

The role is a great opportunity to work for the British government. You would learn how a High Commission operates and have exposure to a wide range of people and skills. You would have training in how the UK government responds in a crisis and wider High Commission learning and development opportunities.

Essential qualifications, skills and experience

Excellent IT Skills, particularly Excel and Teams, and people skills.
